The Aims Of Education
A capabilities approach to development will make wellbeing and freedom to live a decent human life the ultimate objective of the economy.
If this is accepted, then a national plan for development will recast the ecological frames of schooling to prepare learners for:
- economic citizenship,
- a borderless world,
- the rise of a creative class,
- cosmopolitanism,
- and intellectual and moral freedom.
